Problem Note 20874: Import Data task might return missing values in first row within SAS® Enterprise Guide®
The Import Data task might return missing values in the first row when
importing a PC file such as a Microsoft Excel file. The problem will
most likely occur for PC files that do not have column names and, most
likely, just for the numeric columns in the file.
To circumvent the problem, add column names to the PC file in the native
application before importing the data.
If your PC Files do not have column names, and you do not want to add
column names as mentioned in the prior circumvention, here is an
alternative circumvention:
1. Access the PC registry using Start => Run => REGEDIT.
2. Drill down to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Excel
3. Change FirstRowHasNames from 01 to 00.
